Thamesmead is a town rich in history despite being just over 50 years old. It was built 50 years ago and pitched to its newest residents as ‘The town of the future’. With brutalist architecture, adventure playgrounds and a real focus on community. Unfortunately the dream was never realised, but roots of play and community were planted by the residents regardless. Paige grew up hearing stories from her family about growing up in Thamesmead, a town that was built upon adventure, play and memory making.
