I was told at school by my art teacher that I couldn’t draw.

These words dented my confidence and creativity. For many years I found myself creatively stunted from the fear of not being quite good enough.

Determined to find an occupation fuelled by my passion in the arts, I studied an Art and Design foundation course at Loughborough University. It was here that I was taught that being creative wasn’t just proportions and portraiture or painting a realistic landscape, but it was also mark making, expression and colour exploration.

I graduated with a first class honours from Loughborough University after studying Textiles, Innovation, and Design with a specialism in print.

The traditional process of screen printing was an instant obsession for me. I found myself naturally drawn to experimenting with the hand-rendered process, eagerly exploring its possibilities. Layering shapes, flipping silk screens upside down, or intentionally printing designs in unconventional ways became second nature to me. I didn’t realise it at the time but, now it’s clear to see that my love of screen printing was the uncertainty of the outcome. To me, it was all about play—each session in the print room was a joyful exploration, filled with experimentation and discovery. This sense of play and spontaneity remains a central aspect of my artistic practice to this day.

In 2020, I achieved the prestigious 'Make It' award presented by Cockpit Arts, which granted me access to a dedicated physical studio space, enabling me to bring my artistic visions to life. This marked the official launch of my creative business journey. Over the following three years, I continued to thrive as a Cockpit maker, utilizing the resources and support provided by this esteemed organisation. Additionally, I received valuable assistance from The Prince's Trust through their Business Enterprise Scheme.

In 2020, I received a commission from Peabody to create "Neon Tower Blocks," a 10-meter public mural adorning one of Thamesmead's underpasses. Since then, I've been actively involved in designing and installing numerous public artworks throughout London. Whether working independently or collaboratively with community groups, my focus has been on creating designs that resonate with the local context and tell compelling stories. Clients have included Royal Borough of Greenwich, Historic England, Hive Curates, Kilburn Light Festival and Notting Hill Genesis.

I firmly believe that creativity should be available to individuals of all backgrounds. My passion lies in creating spaces where everyone feels welcomed and inspired to explore their creative potential, irrespective of traditional artistic barriers. I lead activities that celebrate experimentation, playfulness, and personal expression, my hope is to dispel the fear around drawing and creativity.

The foundation for this passion was formed during my time working in a dementia specialist care home. Witnessing the residents' longing for meaningful engagement, I felt a deep desire to offer them purposeful activities instead of watered-down and patronising alternatives.

In 2021 I became an Artist Educator with Bow Arts. My work has spanned across primary, secondary, and higher education settings, including SEN specialist institutions. Additionally, I've provided long-term PPA cover to multiple schools, striving to enhance and modernise the national curriculum.
